REFLECTION OF THE DAY
We are NEWSPAPER babies
By Princess Maleiha
We are victims of superficial information. Controversial lives could be read in national broadsheets or watched from our television sets at home.
We are newspaper babies dating back to Renaissance Europe where handwritten newsletters circulated privately containing information about everything. This culture has seeped into our intellect using newspapers as guide to our view of people and systems in and outside the government.
Human submission to superficial information lacking the LAWS OF DIALECTIC could make us vulnerable to being judgmental.
If human industry is absent when it comes to getting the most acceptable and objective side of the story, we are vulnerable to accepting published news as the whole truth. Just because we are already CONVINCED sans reliability and accuracy check.
The Hegel's Law of Dialectics explains the need to arrive at the truth by stating a thesis, developing a
contradictory antithesis, and combining and resolving them into a coherent synthesis. Critical investigation is a must.
The wise men know what is publicity from truth. Be the instrument of objective truth.
